Nothing is more important to a Pembroke Welsh Corgi than a consistent, active routine. This should be established early on when they are puppies, and it can be as young as seven weeks old. Pembroke’s love structure, as independent as they are. When you set up a schedule and a variety of activities for stimulation (and to tucker them out!) you are ensuring happiness for you and your Corgi. These steps will help form the bond between you and your pup.
Pembroke Welsh Corgis gain weight easily, especially when they are young, so it is doubly important to ensure they get used to activity and a regular eating schedule when they are pups.
Healthy puppies will have clean ears with no signs of discharge, redness, inflammation or pungent odour. If the puppy is aggressively scratching or pawing their ear, tilting their head or excessively flipping their head, it may also be a sign of discomfort. Breeds with floppy ears are more prone to infection or disease.
