Leonberger Training

Leonberger puppies are very active and enthusiastic and grow quickly, so it’s important to start your training with your puppy as early as possible, with socialization occurring before 20 weeks. Creating a positive bond with your Leonberger through positive reinforcement with lots of tasty treats and cuddles is best for this emotional breed. Reward your puppy with a variety of tasty treats so that they stay interested, and save the best ones for dedicated training sessions. Also remember that they’re very intuitive dogs so a happy environment makes for a happy dog.

Leonberger Puppy Ears

Healthy puppies will have clean ears with no signs of discharge, redness, inflammation or pungent odour. If the puppy is aggressively scratching or pawing their ear, tilting their head or excessively flipping their head, it may also be a sign of discomfort. Breeds with floppy ears are more prone to infection or disease.
