Giant Schnauzers are very lively and goal oriented. They like working toward a goal or a task. This can be accomplished in their early puppy days, rewarding them for obedience or play fetch with a ball in the backyard. A training basic for Giants is that they like to spend time with you so ensure you’re making the training process as much about instilling good behaviour as you are making your Giant feel safe and comfortable with you. Giants are good from determining who is a friend and who is a potential threat.
Healthy puppies will have clean ears with no signs of discharge, redness, inflammation or pungent odour. If the puppy is aggressively scratching or pawing their ear, tilting their head or excessively flipping their head, it may also be a sign of discomfort. Breeds with floppy ears are more prone to infection or disease.
