Collie Training

A Collie puppy is the ultimate cutie. Training the little one will be anything but challenging, so embrace it while it lasts! They live to please and want to learn and work. They aren't cocky, even though just about everything comes easy to them, especially as a puppy. Collies can master basic obedience quick, but aren't so good at keeping their cool. They think every toy, child, squirrel and bike is a runaway sheep and will try to herd it. This may be funny at first, but can quickly become a frustration. Socializing your Collie early and often is super important for it to learn how to interact with others. Be sure to stay calm and composed, and reward your Collie with tasty treats and petting!

Collie Puppy Ears

Collies ears can come in different shapes and sizes, so don't get worked up if they aren't perfectly proportional. Flop them up and check inside for any signs of infections or worms. Healthy puppies will have clean ears with no signs of discharge, redness, inflammation or pungent odour. If the puppy is aggressively scratching or pawing their ear, tilting their head or excessively flipping their head, it may also be a sign of discomfort. Breeds with floppy ears are more prone to infection or disease.
