Boykin Spaniels are intelligent and social little creatures. It can’t be emphasized enough how much they love being around other people and dogs. It will benefit your Boykin greatly if you enroll them in puppy training classes. Not only will their gentle, eager to please nature be put to good use, they will also be socialized so much more easily. They’ll be able to make friends in the form of other dogs, get to know other kinds of people and situations. They also want to be around you, their owner. Boykins require and crave companionship; the affection they give you is what they need in return. It’s also important to note that Boykins may overexert themselves physically by running around or getting too excited. Watch out that that doesn’t turn into a health concern of them collapsing.
Healthy puppies will have clean ears with no signs of discharge, redness, inflammation or pungent odour. If the puppy is aggressively scratching or pawing their ear, tilting their head or excessively flipping their head, it may also be a sign of discomfort. Breeds with floppy ears are more prone to infection or disease.
