Your endless love for your Bichon Frise is what motivates them to learn and be so trainable. It won't take long for it to master sit, stay, and lay down. But, for housebreaking especially, it can be super difficult and sometimes frustrating. Potty training should be begin immediately as it is likely going to take time. You don't want to always be finding surprises around the house that you have to clean up. When you're first training your puppy, take it outside after food/water, nap time, and every 30 minutes. Using catch phrases like "go potty" or "do your business" will help it associate words to actions. Of course, when it has completed its business, be sure to give the puppy lots of praising and treats. Crate training is also a must for a Bichon! Whenever you're away, sleeping, or busy, the puppy should go in its crate. Be sure to make the crate a positive experience for your Bichon, not a place of fear and confinement. Eventually, it will love to relax after a play and associate the den with down time.
Healthy puppies will have clean ears with no signs of discharge, redness, inflammation or pungent odour. If the puppy is aggressively scratching or pawing their ear, tilting their head or excessively flipping their head, it may also be a sign of discomfort. Breeds with floppy ears are more prone to infection or disease.
